Collaboration & Project Process

How does a typical customer project at INNO TAPE proceed?

A project begins with a needs analysis. This is followed by the selection of materials, the development of the appropriate design and the creation of prototypes. After successful testing, the product is transferred to series production.

Yes. We achieve the greatest added value during the development phase in particular, as the moulded part and the application process can be designed together.

How quickly will I receive a quote from INNO TAPE?

You will usually receive a quote within 48 hours. In exceptional cases, it may take a little longer due to material-related queries.

Can small quantities also be produced?

Yes, prototypes, small batches and large series can all be manufactured.

Does INNO TAPE charge a handling fee?

Yes. For orders under €1,000, a handling fee of €95 will be charged.

Who should I contact if I have a complaint?

If you have any complaints, please contact your customer service representative directly or get in touch with us via complaint@innotape.de.

Products & Services

What products does INNO TAPE offer?

INNO TAPE manufactures self-adhesive moulded parts, adhesive tape blanks, technical die-cut parts, laser parts, customised, process-optimised adhesive solutions, protective films, non-adhesive solutions, insulation films and customised, process-optimised adhesive solutions.

Does INNO TAPE manufacture adhesive tape itself?

No. We process materials from renowned manufacturers such as 3M, tesa, Nitto, Rogers, AFTC, Orafol and others.

Is INNO TAPE tied to specific manufacturers?

No, we work independently of manufacturers.

What manufacturing processes are used at INNO TAPE?

We work with laser, punching and plotting processes as well as roll cutting, roll sawing, rewind cutting, sheet cutting, laminating and rewinding, and cross-winding, among other things.

What types of packaging can INNO TAPE implement?

We deliver the products on rolls, sheets, as individual items, as sets or in bundles – tailored to your further processing requirements.

What is the maximum roll size that INNO TAPE can process?

The maximum roll sizes depend on the machine, material or moulded part and are determined on a case-by-case basis.

Can customised tools be manufactured?

Yes, individual tools are developed for punching projects.

What are levelwound rolls?

Levelwound rolls are adhesive tape rolls with a cross-winding technique. They enable particularly long running lengths, thereby reducing roll changes in the production process.

Application & Processing

Can adhesive tapes replace mechanical fasteners?

In many applications, yes. Adhesive tapes reduce weight, prevent corrosion and enable even force distribution and greater design freedom.

Which surfaces are suitable for adhesive tapes?

Adhesive tapes are suitable for metals, plastics, glass and painted or coated surfaces. Cleanliness, surface energy and texture are crucial factors.

Are there any removable adhesive solutions?

Yes, for example tapes with low end tack or systems such as 3M Dual Lock.

What role does the thickness of adhesive tape play?

The thickness is influenced by installation space, tolerance compensation, damping and mechanical behaviour, and is selected depending on the application.

Does adhesive tape need to be activated?

Not usually. Exceptions are heat-activated adhesive tapes.

How should self-adhesive moulded parts be stored after delivery?

Storage is carried out in accordance with product-specific specifications. In many cases, the parts can be stored in the packaging in which they were delivered.

Why isn't the tape sticking?

Common causes include incorrect material selection, unsuitable presentation, lack of information on environmental conditions, or insufficient testing. Other causes include incorrect application, too little or too much pressure, incorrect cleaning, or surface texture.

Liners, Grip tabs & Handling

What is a liner?

A liner is a separating and protective layer on the adhesive surface of adhesive tape. It protects the adhesive and enables clean handling and reliable processing.

What types of liners are there?

There are carrier liners, cover liners and interliners. All three have different functions and areas of application.

What is the function of a carrier liner?

The carrier liner serves as a positioning and transport layer for self-adhesive moulded parts and ensures reproducible removal during the process.

What is the function of a cover liner?

The cover liner protects one adhesive side of the moulded part until the moment of application.

What is the function of an interliner?

The interliner acts as a defined separating and protective layer and prevents unwanted layer adhesion. Important: The interliner does not replace either the carrier liner or the cover liner, but rather complements the liner concept.

What is a pull tab?

A pull tab is a non-adhesive area on the moulded part or liner that facilitates removal, positioning and handling – both manually and automatically.

Materials, Adhesives & Technology

What types of adhesive tapes does INNO TAPE process?

We process single- and double-sided adhesive tapes, foams, protective films, thermally conductive materials, electrically conductive materials, EMI/EMC materials, insulation films and other special solutions.

What are light-blocking materials?

Light blocking materials specifically prevent unwanted light from entering displays, sensors or camera systems, for example.

What factors influence adhesive strength?

The adhesive strength is influenced by factors such as surface texture, cleanliness, adhesive type, contact pressure, temperature, time and environmental conditions.

What do adhesion, cohesion and tack mean?

Adhesion describes the adhesion to the surface, cohesion describes the internal cohesion of the adhesive, and tack describes the initial adhesive strength.

Are there electrically conductive or insulating adhesive tapes?

Yes. Depending on the application, electrically conductive or electrically insulating adhesive tapes are used.

Can adhesive tapes perform thermal functions?

Yes, for example for heat dissipation or thermal insulation.

Are there solutions for high temperatures?

Depending on the design, temperature resistances ranging from approximately 120 °C to over 250 °C are possible in the automotive sector.

What is the difference between temporary and permanent protective films?

Temporary protective films protect components for a defined period of time, while permanent protective films remain on the component long term.

What are optical clear adhesives (OCA)?

OCA are optically clear adhesives for transparent components such as glass, displays or sensor covers.

What is the difference between acrylic and rubber adhesive tapes?

Rubber adhesive tapes offer high initial adhesive strength, but are less resistant to ageing and temperature. Acrylate adhesive tapes build up their final adhesive strength over time and are particularly resistant to temperature, UV radiation and chemical media such as oils, fuels or cleaning agents.

Automotive & demanding applications

Why are adhesive tapes used in automotive engineering?

They enable flat, lightweight, corrosion-free connections and support automated assembly processes.

Is an IMDS entry possible?

Yes, IMDS entries for the raw materials used are possible.

Can adhesive tape be used in battery construction?

Yes. Adhesive tapes perform functions such as fixing, insulating, protecting, sealing, and managing heat and EMC.

For which applications in vehicles are self-adhesive solutions suitable?

Among other things, for add-on parts, decorative strips, emblems, display applications, electronics, cables, battery modules, EMI/EMC shielding, and protective and insulation applications.

What requirements must adhesive tapes meet in the automotive industry?

The requirements depend heavily on the respective area of application. Depending on the application, adhesive tapes must be able to withstand high temperatures, UV radiation, chemical media (e.g. oils, greases, fuels), ageing and mechanical stresses such as vibrations or shear forces on a permanent basis.

Quality, Certification & Safety

What certifications does INNO TAPE have?

INNO TAPE is certified according to IATF 16949, DIN EN ISO 9001, DIN EN ISO 14001 and UL.

What is an EMPB?

An initial sample test report (EMPB) documents the conformity of a product with the agreed specifications in the initial series.

Does INNO TAPE have its own warehouse?

Yes, we have our own warehouse for materials with high turnover rates.
