Foams

Foams are primarily used for insulation, sealing and damping. Depending on the type of foam, they are harder or softer, open-cell, mixed-cell or closed-cell. They are used in the automotive sector as well as in buildings, industry or in housings for electronics. We provide the foam with a self-adhesive finish and thus expand the range of applications many times over.

EPDM cellular rubber

EPDM-cellular rubber (ethylen propylen diene)
Ethylene propylene diene rubber is a synthetic rubber. It has no outer skin and a closed cell structure. Since the cells are not interconnected, EPDM also has high weather and moisture resistance, good ozone resistance and high thermal resistance. It is resistant to oxygen and dilute acids.

EPDM has high elasticity and is used for a wide variety of seals. It is also suitable for use with hot water and hot air up to 150°C. In terms of quantity, it is the most commonly used sealing material in the automotive industry – but increasingly it is also finding its way into the construction sector.

Polyurethane foam (PU/PUR)

Polyurethane foams (PU/PUR)
Polyurethane foams are very light, durable and reversibly deformable. Even after years of daily use, they do not lose their elasticity. They have large pores so that air can circulate well – heat and moisture can thus not accumulate.

PU/PUR foams are often used as seals, rattle protection, filter material or for thermal insulation and are used in the automotive, construction, industrial, medical and orthopaedic technology, electronics and many other sectors.

Polyethylene foam (PE)

Polyethylene foams have a fine cell structure and excellent damping as well as insulating properties. They have a low density and excellent resistance to weathering and ageing. The pores are very fine and resistant to moisture.

They are often used in thermal insulation (heat and cold insulation), exterior sealing, relief, support, backfilling etc.. However, they are also used in the area of seals and packaging in application areas without significant mechanical or permanent load effects.

Silicone foam

Silicone foams have a high chemical and physical resistance and a very good compression set. They are available in densities from 0.25 to 1.0 g/cm³ and in open-cell, closed-cell or mixed-cell.

They are often used for seals with high compressibility for damping and insulation or to absorb tolerances.
