Our cross-wound coils enable long run lengths combined with narrow widths from 1.5 mm – ideal for fully automated processing operations, particularly in the automotive industry.

This is because, with cross-wound spools, the adhesive tape is wound crosswise rather than parallel. This special winding technique allows for significantly longer run lengths per reel, ensures even unwinding and reduces production downtime. Fewer reel changes and a constant material feed further increase process reliability and ensure reproducible processing.

Technical possibilities with cross-winding

Our cross-wound coils are customised to suit the specific material, application and processing method. This results in solutions that can be processed both manually and fully automatically.

Different designs are available depending on the application. These include, amongst others:

Cross-wound spools with an intermediate liner
Variants covered on both sides
Additional intermediate liners for particularly narrow widths
Perforations for manual tearing
Pre-cut lengths via perforated liner (kiss-cut)

An additional third liner is used, particularly for very narrow adhesive tapes under 3 mm. This provides greater stability and ensures reliable processing in subsequent stages.
